Deep blue Apatite was once prized as a vision inducing substance, and passed down from one priestess to the next.

Sometimes said to be ruled by Jupiter/Sagitarrius and other times by Mercury/Virgo.

Deep blue: Important to the 6th Chakra, or 3rd Eye which facilitates intuition, psychic awareness, ESP and insight. Light blue: thought to open the throat Chakra (5th) and reduce stuttering. Yellow: 3rd Chakra and intellect. Green: Healing, balance, stress.

Healing Properties: Blue is considered important for reducing stress and increasing muscular strength. The yellow or golden varieties are thought important in helping arthritis and other bone problems. Sometimes mentioned in helping with weight loss.

Scientific Properties: Composed of a complex phosphate of Calcium, Chlorine and Fluorine. Chlorapatite has the presence of chlorine and hyroxyl ions, while Fluorapatite, the more common variety, contains Fluorine in its crystal structure. Found in igneous pegmatites, ore veins and sedimentary rocks, this mineral is also a major constituent of mammalian teeth and bones. Ivory is about 65 percent Apatite (the rest is mostly collagen).

Blue Apatite crystals are found in Brazil, brown/green in Ontario, violet in New England, Bolivia clear and purple. 5 on the Moh's Hardness Scale
