Aventurine gets its name from the Italian a ventura, meaning by mistake as synthetic aventurine was discovered by accident when some copper fell into a vat of molten glass. Natural Blue Aventurine, a variety of translucent quartz, was discovered relatively recently in Brazil and derives its color from minor inclusions of Dumortierite. Aventurine also comes in green and peach/ orange.
Mystical Properties: Blue Aventurine is considered important in enhancing male energy in both males and females. Wearing Blue Aventurine Jewelry is said to increase "positive" (masculine) polarities. It is therefore considered a gemstone for increasing physical strength and vitality.
