Jasper is a term which generally refers to opaque semi-precious gemstones, usually
Quartz based.
This term is sometimes interchangeable with
Agate, however
Agates tend to be clearer and/or banded.

Jasper was often mentioned as bringing rain by American Indians.
The word for Jasper in some American Indian cultures meant
rain-bringer, while the ancient Aztecs favored all green stones, including green jasper. The
Japanese of the Iron Age buried Jasper amulets called Magatama with their dead.
Jaspers, in general, are mentioned as being the Patron
Stone to Counselors and Therapists and is assigned an overall healing

of Jasper in the hand during childbirth is said to help relieve pain and
