Tanzanite Jewelry

Tanzanite is an expensive, rare and highly prized gemstone from Tanzania--hence the name. The color is a nearly ethereal light lavender to violet blue--a truly beautiful gemstone. Tanzanite is a relatively new gemstone, discovered in 1967. Rare and beautiful, Tanzanite is found in only ONE SPOT in the entire world and estimates put the mine closing within 5 years or less. Mystical Properties: There are legends surrounding the wise men of Tanzania, dolphins and the ancient civilization of Lemuria. Found only in the Tanga Province of Tanzania, Africa. Hardness: 6.0 on the Moh's Hardness Scale.
