Eastern Astrology

Eastern or Hindu Astrology assigns gemstones based on the ruling planet. Note that in Eastern Astrology, the North and South Nodes of the Moon are treated with the same importance as a Planet in Western Astrology. In Western Astrology, the North and South nodes of the moon are used to determine where help (north) and trials (south) will come about.
